Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site A Level Technician role based at North Reading Subaru in Reading, MA. The A Level Technician is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Subaru vehicles and other makes as needed. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, conducting thorough inspections, and completing manufacturer-recommended services to high safety and quality standards. The role involves accurately documenting work performed, collaborating with service advisors and other technicians, and following dealership and manufacturer procedures. The A Level Technician also supports continuous improvement by staying current with Subaru technical updates, participating in training, and helping maintain a clean, safe, and organized service environment.

Qualifications
  • Strong automotive diagnostic and repair skills, including experience with engine, transmission, brake, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and computer-based service and repair systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer service bulletins.
  • Solid understanding of vehicle safety standards, quality control practices, and preventive maintenance.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with service advisors and fellow technicians.
  • Commitment to customer-focused service, reliability, and professional conduct in a fast-paced environment.
  • ASE certifications and/or manufacturer-specific training (Subaru experience preferred) are highly beneficial.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Previous experience as an A Level or master-level technician in a dealership or equivalent repair facility.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing training and development to maintain expertise with evolving vehicle technology.
