Job summary

CLS Keating LLC seeks a Service Technician to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and warranty repairs on customer vehicles. The role emphasizes safe, efficient service within dealership processes, with Subaru-brand knowledge preferred.

We offer a sign-on bonus of $2500. This full-time position requires rotating shifts, often weekdays with possible evenings and weekends, and compliance with safety standards. Valid license and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 yrs prior main line experience.
  • Competent knowledge of automotive technology and related tools.
  • ASE Certifications.
  • Certified to perform state inspections.
  • 4 years clear driving record with no DUI or moving violations.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • No criminal background history.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts multipoint inspections and video inspections to identify maintenance and repairs.
  • Follows safety procedures and regulations.
  • Uses dealership-provided equipment in proper condition.
  • Documents findings clearly and communicates with service advisor.
  • Communicates proactively with team to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Performs quality checks on own work and others' as requested.
  • Stays up to date with manufacturer and dealership training.

Service Technician

Description

Summary

The Technician performs anything from basic maintenance, light or heavy repairs, diagnosis to warranty repairs on customer vehicles. Primary goals are safe, efficient performance of all maintenance and repair tasks as defined in the dealership processes and policies. This role has trained knowledge with the Subaru brand.

**SIGN ON Bonus $2500** Guaranteed 80 hours with competitive flag rate.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Conducts multipoint inspections and video inspections of customer vehicles to identify needed maintenance services and repairs.
  • Follows all required safety and hazardous materials procedures as required by the dealership policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Uses and maintains dealership-provided equipment in proper operating conditions.
  • Documents inspection findings and maintenance requirements clearly and accurately and communicates them to the service advisor/ASM or Shop Foreman.
  • Communicates proactively with other associates to ensure a smooth, safe flow of work throughout the shop.
  • Quality checks own work and the work of other Technicians as requested.
  • Stays up to date with all manufacturer and dealership required training.

Work Environment

This job operates in various types of vehicles and business environments that may include loud noises, odors or weather conditions. Driving is mostly during the day but could be required to drive in low light conditions. Some areas that specialize in oil changes and lubrication use an arrangement commonly called a pit; customers drive their vehicles into the shop, straddling an open area; the mechanic then enters the pit to perform the work. Pit areas are typically not well-ventilated and can be hot during summer months. The very nature of the work also means that mechanics can seldom avoid handling greasy and dirty parts.

Physical Demands

Work on and repair a variety of vehicles in inclement weather and may often be in uncomfortable positions. May sit, stoop, crawl, bend, walk or stand for long periods of time in all weather and temperature conditions. Repetitive use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, crawling, walking stooping, reaching, pushing, grasping, hearing, seeing and talking. Technicians will commonly lift up to 50 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically rotating Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Evening, Holiday and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

This position requires limited extended travel beyond delivery and test drive areas.

Valid driver's license is required, and all applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background check prior to employment.
