Job summary

Byrider in Boise, Idaho is seeking an A-Level Automotive Diagnostic Technician for a full-time, Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM role.

You will diagnose complex drivability and electrical issues, perform advanced troubleshooting with scan tools, and mentor junior techs. This position offers hourly pay with no flat rate and a stable weekday schedule. If you have 5+ years of repair experience, own tools, and a valid driver’s license, we'd love to talk.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with drivability concerns and advanced vehicle systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of domestic and import vehicles.
• ASE Certifications are a plus (or willingness to obtain).
• Own tools required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex drivability, electrical, engine, transmission, steering, suspension, and HVAC concerns
• Perform advanced troubleshooting using scan tools, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic equipment
• Complete major mechanical repairs including engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brake, and electrical system repairs
• Accurately identify repair recommendations through comprehensive vehicle inspections
• Mentor and assist less experienced technicians as needed
• Maintain accurate repair documentation and communicate findings with the service team
• Ensure repairs are completed efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
