Job summary

UC Santa Barbara's Arts & Lectures seeks a Marketing Manager to lead integrated campaigns for performances, lectures, films, and events. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, arts administration, or related field.
  • 7–9 years advanced experience in marketing, including campaign planning and multi‑channel execution.
  • 4–6 years experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • 4–6 years experience providing supervision or direction in a team environment.
  • 1–3 years experience with CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and digital marketing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day campaign execution across multiple concurrent projects, develop campaign plans and production timelines, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of marketing materials.
  • Work closely with Programming, Development, Ticketing, and external partners to support cohesive and effective campaign delivery.
  • Supervise a Marketing Specialist, assigning work, reviewing output, conducting performance evaluations, and supporting staff development.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional contributors, including design and publicity, to ensure alignment with campaign goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Implement and manage campaigns across digital and print platforms; develop campaign briefs, timelines, and production schedules; adapt tactics to meet audience engagement and revenue goals.
  • Track progress, ensure adherence to deadlines and organisational priorities, and recommend process improvements.
  • Write, edit, and refine marketing content across platforms, ensuring consistency of voice, tone, and visual identity; coordinate development of programme book content and related materials.
  • Analyse marketing data, audience behaviour, and campaign performance; provide recommendations to improve campaign performance and audience engagement; apply data insights to adjust messaging, channel strategy, and timing.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Marketing Manager is a senior marketing professional responsible for the coordination, implementation, and execution of integrated marketing campaigns for UCSB Arts & Lectures.

Applies advanced marketing concepts and industry practices to implement campaign strategies, messaging, and audience segmentation frameworks and to support the execution of multi‑channel initiatives across performances, lectures, films, and special events.

Exercises judgement within established guidelines to adapt tactics, optimise performance, and ensure alignment with organisational goals, brand standards, and revenue objectives.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Arts Administration, or related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • 7‑9 years advanced experience in marketing, including campaign planning and multi‑channel execution.
  • 4‑6 years experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • 4‑6 years experience providing supervision or direction in a team environment.
  • 1‑3 years experience with CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and digital marketing tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1‑3 years experience with graphic design or visual asset development, including familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.
  • 1‑3 years experience in arts, higher education, or non‑profit marketing.

Salary range: $97,200 – $113,400 per year. Full benefits eligibility is provided.

Work Schedule

Mon–Fri 9 am–6 pm, with occasional nights and weekends.
