Job summary

UC Santa Barbara is seeking a Campus Dining Engagement Coordinator to lead marketing and engagement efforts for Campus Dining. You will develop strategies, design promotional materials, and coordinate events and partnerships to promote dining programs across campus.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the role requires strong communication, project management, and collaboration with campus partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years in social media management, content creation/design, and content marketing.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and customer service.
  • Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines.

Job description

Brief Summary Of Job Duties

Under the general supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Campus Dining Engagement Coordinator performs a wide variety of communication and marketing duties and engagement activities related to the mission and goals of Campus Dining to improve the dining experience for residents, staff, faculty, and campus visitors. This role coordinates activities, including events, promotional materials, and products designed to promote awareness of Campus Dining activities. The Coordinator is also the Campus Dining representative in campus‑wide initiatives such as Open House, Welcome Week, Parent and Family Weekend, student orientations, and conducts or coordinates outreach activities at various programs and resource fairs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and oversee marketing and engagement strategies for Campus Dining.
  • Design and produce promotional materials (print publications, event programs, internal newsletters, articles, presentations).
  • Plan and execute events, partnerships, cross‑promotions, and tabling opportunities to promote dining program offerings.
  • Identify and coordinate submittals and applications for awards, recognition, and program profile pieces.
  • Coordinate marketing and communications across web, digital signage, and branded materials ensuring timely and accurate information.
  • Develop specific articles, collateral, and content for departmental goals and target audiences.
  • Manage marketing budget and ensure budgetary goals are met.
  • Oversee the deployment of marketing analytics, monitor and evaluate marketing reporting results, and provide feedback to Dining operations teams.
  • Conduct market research to assess needs and preferences of patron groups and develop quarterly/annual reports on program effectiveness.
  • Maintain relationships with collegiate and food‑service resources (NACUFS, NACAS, UC partners, CSU partners, National Restaurant Association) and industry partners.
  • Serve as the Campus Dining representative in campus‑wide initiatives and outreach activities.
  • Administer student ambassador team and develop a coherent social media presence.
  • Support campus brand standards and maintain an effective and cohesive look and feel for department materials.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • 1–3 years of experience in social media management, content creation/design, content marketing, networking, and media relations across channels.
  • 1–3 years of experience with Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent applications, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with Macintosh and Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, strategies and best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, highly organized, and with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and excel in a team environment.
  • Commitment to diversity and ability to work with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education and/or knowledge of the higher education market.
