Job summary

IVAN BRICE ARCHITECTURE seeks an experienced professional for exterior envelope inspection and remedial work. The role involves conducting condition surveys, preparing diagnostic reports, and developing plans for repairs/replacements of facades, roofs, and windows, with emphasis on NYC regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct exterior condition surveys and prepare diagnostic reports for NYC FISP filings.
• Prepare plans and specifications for exterior envelope repair/replacement projects.
• Coordinate and communicate with staff, clients, owners, agency reps and contractors.
• Inspect and report on construction progress and quality; review payment apps and change orders.
• Determine applicable NYC ECC code requirements and prepare LPC filings.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Conduct exterior condition surveys and prepare diagnostic reports, especially for NYC Facade Inspection and Safety Program, including processing of TR6, FISP 2 & 3 filings and related status reports for sidewalk shed extensions.
• Prepare plans and specifications for projects involving repair and/or replacement of exterior envelope including facades, roofs, windows and related components. Prepare project-specific details to effectively remedy all conditions evidencing defective construction or deterioration caused by age and weathering.
• Actively interact, coordinate, lead and/or participate in face to face, zoom and written online communication, with our staff, clients, owner or agency reps. and contractors.
• Inspect and report on quality, progress and completion of construction work. Review contractor payment applications and/or change order requests.
• Determine and apply applicable code requirements especially concerning NYC ECC.
• Prepare documentation and filings for NYC-LPC applications.

Qualifications

• Architecture or Civil/Structural Engineering Degree. Must have substantial experience and specialized knowledge, skills and prior track record in the field of exterior envelope inspection, diagnosis, remedial repair and replacement. Preference will be given to those who are most familiar with protocol and compliance for the NYC Facade Inspection & Safety Program including related filings on DOB NOW and LPC Portico. Experience working on projects for NYC and NYS public agencies is desirable.
