Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking undergraduates for an internship supporting the Policy Assurance and Accounts Payable team. You will help evaluate risks, assess design of controls, and test key controls at INL's Idaho Falls campus. Start date and duration vary by project and student availability.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time in accounting/finance/business management with a 3.0+ GPA and have U.S. work authorization (CPT/OPT).

Reporting to the Policy Assurance and Accounts Payable team, you will be supporting the execution of the annual OMB Circular A-123 evaluation of internal controls (Federal government equivalent of SOX). The internship will consist of working with managers and staff responsible for business processes and internal control activities to:

• evaluate risks in the processes
• evaluate the internal controls in place to mitigate the risks (tests of design)
• test the functionality of key controls to ensure they are operating as intended to prevent or detect occurrence of the risks (test of effectiveness)

This team works a 9x80 schedule onsite at our Idaho Falls Campus. Start date and duration of internship vary based on project and student availability.

Minimum Qualifications

• Undergraduate freshman-senior enrolled full time at an accredited college/university studying Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a closely related degree
• A minimum overall 3.0 GPA
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)
• Current Resume or CV
• Unofficial Transcripts (include current and completed degree programs)
• Current class schedule and number of credits

• Undergraduate Internships ($26.94/hour - $32.41/hour)
• Masters Internships ($35.34/hour - $37.73/hour)
• PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($36.83/hour - $39.33/hour)
• PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($38.65/hour - $41.29/hour)
• Eligible interns are provided with paid holiday time off, and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.
• Multi-Level: Internships are typically multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on degree field and level of education.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, use hands to handle materials, manipulate tools, type on a keyboard, reach with hands and arms, and operate job-related equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds without assistance.
