Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking a Cloud FinOps Analyst to manage and optimize cloud and AI hosting spend across AWS, GCP, OpenAI, and Anthropic. The role sits between engineering, finance, and leadership to improve cost visibility, forecasting, and accountability as usage grows.

Hybrid work with a competitive USD salary and long-term contractor engagement. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years in cloud cost management or FinOps, strong SQL and analytics, and experience turning data into actionable

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in cloud cost management, FinOps, or business/data analysis.
  • Strong FinOps principles and cloud cost management knowledge.
  • Strong SQL and analytical skills.
  • Experience building AI agents or AI-assisted tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own visibility into spend across cloud and AI providers.
  • Analyze usage and cost patterns to identify savings.
  • Forecasting, budgeting, and variance-tracking for hosting spend.
  • Collaborate with engineering on cost-efficiency measures.
  • Prepare cost reporting and recommendations for leadership.

The Cloud FinOps Analyst will focus on managing and improving spend across cloud and AI hosting environments, including \*\*AWS, GCP, OpenAI, and Anthropic\*\*.The role sits between engineering, finance, and leadership. Its purpose is to improve cost visibility, forecasting, and accountability so infrastructure spend stays controlled and aligned with business value as usage grows.You will help build the processes and reporting needed to make hosting costs easier to track, explain, and optimize across the organization.## Key Responsibilities– Own visibility into spend across cloud and AI providers. – Analyze usage and cost patterns to identify optimization opportunities and measure savings. – Build and maintain forecasting, budgeting, and variance-tracking processes for hosting spend. – Work with engineering teams to implement cost-efficiency improvements and assess their business impact. – Prepare clear cost reporting and recommendations for leadership. – Promote FinOps practices and cost accountability across the organization.## Required Skills– Advanced English level (B2/C1). – 5–10 years of relevant professional experience in cloud cost management, FinOps, or business/data analysis. – Demonstrated, verifiable impact in cloud cost optimization. – Strong understanding of FinOps principles, cloud cost management, and business operations. – Strong SQL and analytical skills. – Experience working in a data analyst or business analyst capacity. – Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, services, and pricing models. – Ability to turn complex cost data into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders. – Experience building and/or using AI agents, agentic workflows, LLM-based automation, or AI-assisted engineering tools.## Preferred Skills– FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent certification. – Experience managing spend on AI/LLM platforms.## Cloud Platforms & Technologies### Cloud Providers – AWS – GCP### AI Providers / LLM Platforms – OpenAI – Anthropic### Query & Analysis – SQL### Cloud Cost Management & Billing – AWS Cost Explorer – Billing dashboardsManagement### BI & Reporting – BI and reporting tools – Executive dashboards## FinOps Responsibilities– Maintain end-to-end spend visibility across cloud and AI providers. – Track usage and cost trends to find savings opportunities. – Set up and sustain forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for hosting spend. – Partner with engineering on cost-efficiency measures. – Report cost performance and recommendations to leadership. – Reinforce FinOps discipline and accountability across teams.## Benefits– Hybrid schedule with 2–3 in-office days per week and remote work. – Competitive salary in USD. – Independent Contractor arrangement with Venon Solutions LLC. – Long-term contract. – 2 weeks of PTO. – Paid holidays based on the Client’s U.S. calendar. – Full-time office working hours required.## Why You Might Be InterestedThis role offers the opportunity to shape how cloud and AI hosting spend is managed across a growing environment.
