Job summary

Prince William County Government seeks a Telecommunicator I to receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls from residents, visitors, and public safety partners. You will gather essential information, assess the situation, and dispatch the right resources.

The role offers growth to Telecommunicator II/III with a 10% salary increase at each step, and a full benefits package including retirement, paid leave, and health plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Be 18 years old at hire.
• US citizen or eligible for naturalization.
• Type at least 30 wpm.
• Pass background investigation incl. polygraph, drug test, and SHC.
• Pass software-based application skills test.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Gather information from callers to assess the situation.
• Dispatch appropriate resources and public safety personnel.
