Prince William County Government seeks a Telecommunicator I - 911 specialist to receive and prioritize calls from the public, gather essential details, and dispatch police, fire, or EMS as needed.

This essential 24/7 role requires high school diploma, 18+, US citizen or eligible, ability to type 30 wpm, and the ability to pass background, polygraph, and medical tests. Training leads to opportunities to advance with salary increases.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18+ and a U.S. citizen or eligible permanent resident.
• Type 30 words per minute.
• Pass a full background check including polygraph, psychological evaluation, drug test and skills test.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Gather information to assess the situation and dispatch the appropriate resources.
