This position supports both emergency and non-emergency services and coordinates with local law enforcement, EMS, and fire agencies within Chippewa County.
The Communications Center operates 24/7 with 12-hour day or night shifts (6:00 am–6:00 pm or 6:00 pm–6:00 am); assignments accommodate staffing needs and seniority.

Chippewa County Communication Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Dispatchers work 12-hour day shifts (6:00 am – 6:00 pm) or night shifts (6:00 pm – 6:00 am) which includes weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-ins.
Open positions may be assigned to either shift depending on staffing needs. Shift assignments and preferences are managed through a seniority-based process. Candidates must be willing and able to work either days or nights, as well as weekends and holidays.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Previous emergency services dispatch experience, 911 training and previous experience working in a 24/7 environment are preferred. CPR Certification and Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification are preferred. Time System Certification is required within one (1) year of hire. A valid driver’s license is required.

Starting Wage: $25.55 – $27.77 per hour depending on qualifications PLUS an excellent fringe benefit package. Maximum Wage: $33.32 per hour. Night Shift: Includes shift differential of $1.00 per hour.
