Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a dedicated Teacher to deliver instruction, manage classrooms, track student progress and collaborate with families.

Under principal supervision, the incumbent plans lessons, applies current teaching methods, maintains records, and participates in professional meetings and field trips as needed.

This role requires Illinois teaching certification and the ability to promote positive student conduct and attendance.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching and coursework required for state teaching licensure.
• Valid Illinois teaching license (PEL or ELS) endorsed for this position.
• Knowledge of current curriculum standards and effective instructional strategies.

Responsibilities

• Plan instructional activities and write lesson plans aligned to objectives.
• Monitor and evaluate pupil progress and maintain accurate records.
• Establish classroom rules and maintain positive student conduct.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about academic progress and behavior.
