Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a dedicated teacher in Texas to join our college-prep team. You will deliver rigorous instruction aligned with IDEA curricula and collaborate with colleagues to support student growth toward college readiness.

Primary responsibilities include planning, assessing, and communicating progress to families, while using technology effectively and participating in after-school activities as needed. You will contribute to a positive, student-centered school culture.

Qualifications

• High content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution required.
• K-12 classroom experience strongly preferred.
• State certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Deliver content and grade-level curriculum and materials.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track student progress and adjust plans accordingly.
• Communicate student progress weekly with families.
• Facilitate use of technology to improve learning and manage tasks.
• Maintain a consistent behavior management system in line with campus initiatives.
• Foster a positive school culture and build community with students and families.
• Participate in meetings and after-school activities as needed.
• Spend 40+ hours per week on-site and support tutoring sessions when required.
