Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks a dedicated teacher to drive college-ready outcomes in a high school setting. You will implement state standards, deliver rigorous curricula, and submit lesson plans for feedback while tracking student progress and communicating updates to families.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, teaching credentials or related experience, and a commitment to IDEA’s mission. Expect a strong on-site schedule with professional development and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience (strongly preferred).
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Knowledge of core academic subject and ability to pass a grade-level IDEA content assessment.
• Licenses or Certifications: State certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Deliver content and grade level curriculum and texts.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track student progress with assessments and update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Maintain an effective behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Engage in weekly meetings, tutoring duties, and school events.
• Spend 40+ hours per week on-site and participate in ongoing professional development.
