Job summary

Idaho Falls School District 91 is seeking an Assistant Coach for the middle school season. The role supports the head coach, assists with student skill development, and upholds safety and district rules.

The candidate should demonstrate sport coaching experience, have or be eligible for an Idaho teaching certificate, and hold CPR certification. Employment is regulated under the district stipend schedule and assessed annually by the Building Administrator.

Qualifications

• A. Demonstrates skill and experience in the sport coached.
• B. Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate preferred.
• C. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public.
• D. Current CPR certification.
• E. Alternatives to the above qualifications may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• A. Assists the head coach in carrying out their responsibilities to the students and the district.
• B. Assumes the responsibilities of the head coach during their absence.
• C. Is responsible for the safety of the students under their direction while on the playing field, both in practice and during competition.
• D. Complies with all rules and regulations of the IHSAA, the State Board of Education and the Board of Trustees for School District 91.
• E. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence including attendance at district workshops on safety and legal issues, i.e. CPR, first aid.
• F. Attends appropriate meetings and serves on committees as requested by the Building Administrator.
• G. Maintains high standards of ethical conduct and confidentiality.
• H. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Goals

To support the delivery of School District 91's curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.

To assist the Head Coach in helping each participating student achieve a fundamental skill level, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

Terms of Employment

Employed annually under the Middle High School Assistant Coach stipend as per the Stipend Schedule as listed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Idaho Falls School District 91 and the Idaho Falls Education Association.

Evaluation

Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator as part of the teacher evaluation process in accordance with the Negotiated Master Contract.
