Job summary

Idaho Falls School District 91 is seeking a Wrestling Coach for a Taylorview Middle School position. The role supports the delivery of the district's curriculum and aims to maximize student achievement by teaching fundamentals, discipline and sportsmanship.

Qualifications

• Teaches fundamentals of the game and personal characteristics required by the sport.
• Interacts with administration to schedule activities within guidelines.
• Responsible for welfare and safety of athletes at practice, during competition and travel.
• Attend safety and legal workshops sponsored by the district.
• Cooperates with press and public entities to represent the program positively.
• Follows rules of IHSAA, State Board of Education and Board of Trustees.
• Attends meetings and serves on committees as requested.
• Orders, inventories and maintains equipment and facilities.
• Maintains communication with administration.
• Maintains high standards of ethical conduct and confidentiality.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

III. REPORTS TO: Program Director and Building Administrator.

IV. JOB GOALS:

To support the delivery of School District 91's curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.

To help each participating student achieve a fundamental skill level, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

V. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• A. Plans regularly scheduled practice sessions and activities which are designed to maximize the skill level of the individual athlete within the confines of district and state policies and regulations.
• B. Teaches the fundamentals of the game and the personal characteristics required by the demands of the sport.
• C. Interacts with building and district administration to schedule competitive activities within the confines of district and state guidelines.
• D. Responsible for the welfare and safety of athletes at practice, during competition and while traveling with the team. This includes responsibility for students while on road trips and beyond game time (i.e. at motels, restaurants, and before and after games.)
• E. Must attend safety and legal workshops sponsored by the district, i.e. CPR, first aid.
• E. Cooperates with the press and other public entities to represent the program and the school district in a positive manner.
• F. Complies with all rules and regulations of the IHSAA, the State Board of Education and the Board of Trustees for School District 91.
• G. Attends appropriate meetings and serves on committees as requested by the Building Administrator.
• H. Orders, inventories and maintains equipment and facilities in cooperation with the Building Administrator.
• I. Maintains a direct line of communication with administration.
• J. Maintains high standards of ethical conduct and confidentiality.
• K. Performs all other duties as assigned.

VI. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employed annually under the Middle SchoolCoach stipend as per the Stipend Schedule as listed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Idaho Falls School District 91 and the Idaho Falls Education Associating. The stipend amount will depend on the FTE assigned to the position.

VII. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Program Director as part of the evaluation process in accordance with Board policy.
