Qualifications

• Motivate students and communicate with individuals from varied educational and cultural backgrounds.
• Age-appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, Education Code, and relevant subjects.
• Stand and walk for prolonged periods; maintain records and meet schedules/deadlines; manage classroom safety.

Responsibilities

• Advises parents/guardians of student progress to support expectations and home goals.
• Assesses students to provide progress feedback to students, parents and administration.
• Assists other teachers to implement curriculum.
• Collaborates with school personnel, parents and community agencies to improve student outcomes and plan curriculum.
• Demonstrates methods to perform assignments and skills for safe/accurate student work.
• Directs instructional assistants, volunteers and student aides to support an effective school program.
• Instructs students to improve academic success within the course of study.
• Monitors student activities to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Prepares teaching materials and reports for lesson plans and progress documentation.
• Reports incidents to maintain safety and adherence to policies.
