Job summary

Horizon Community Middle School seeks a Substitute Teacher to provide instruction in the regular teacher's absence, follow lesson plans, manage student behavior, take attendance, and maintain a safe learning environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers and staff, adherence to school policies, and flexibility to handle diverse classroom needs. A CDE substitute authorization or teaching license is required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Basic classroom management and planning skills
• Intermediate verbal and written communication and interpersonal relations skills
• Ability to support programs designed to increase student achievement
• Ability and desire to work as a team member
• Ability to understand, appreciate, and make accommodations for student diversity

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one situations.
• Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise the behavior and well-being of students in the classroom and all educational settings, and administer discipline when appropriate.
• Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
