JOB SUMMARY

Provide instruction and manage a classroom in the regular teacher's absence, following provided lesson plans, managing student behavior, taking attendance, and ensuring a safe learning environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one situations. (Daily, 50%)
• 2. Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise the behavior and well-being of students in the classroom and all educational settings, and administer discipline when appropriate. (Daily, 25%)
• 3. Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes. (Daily, 20%)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Short Term Assignment at Horizon Community Middle School as a 7th Grade Science Teacher. Duration of assignment: Will be for 12 weeks, starting the beginning of December (12/7/2026). CDE Licensed Teacher: Required (Initial / Professional Teacher, or 5 year Substitute Authorization) CDE Licensed Teacher, Endorsement Required: Science or considered In Field (Degree or passed Praxis).
