Job Summary
Provide instruction and manage a classroom in the regular teacher's absence, following provided lesson plans, managing student behavior, taking attendance, and ensuring a safe learning environment.

Job Task Descriptions
- 1. Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one situations. Frequency: Daily. Percentage of Time: 50%
- 2. Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise the behavior and well-being of students in the classroom and all educational settings, and administer discipline when appropriate. Frequency: Daily. Percentage of Time: 25%
- 3. Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes. Frequency: Daily. Percentage of Time: 20%
- 4. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Frequency: Daily. Percentage of Time: 5%

Reporting Relationships
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
- No professional work experience required
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) substitute authorization or teaching license
- Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Basic classroom management and planning skills
- Basic organizational skills
- Intermediate verbal and written communication and interpersonal relations skills
- Ability to support programs designed to increase student achievement
- Ability and desire to work as a team member
- Ability to understand, appreciate, and make accommodations for student diversity

- Work location is subject to change to meet the requirements of the organization

- Previous successful teaching experience
- Experience working in the public sector

Additional Details
7th Grade English Language Arts
CDE Licensed Teacher: Required (Initial / Professional Teacher, or 5 year Substitute Authorization)
CDE Licensed Teacher, Endorsement Required: English/Language Arts or considered In Field (Degree or passed Praxis)
Short Term Assignment duration: 12 weeks - assignment to begin early December
