Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a dedicated IDEA College Prep Teacher to help every student master core academics and social skills essential for college success, while modeling IDEA’s values daily.

Teachers set ambitious goals, track student data to drive responsive daily lessons, and pursue opportunities for college-credit through dual enrollment, AP, or IB courses to expand student horizons.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
• K-12 teaching certification is strongly preferred.
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting is advantageous.
• State certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula to meet academic goals.
• Deliver content and grade-level instruction across subjects.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Use formal and informal assessments to track progress and adjust plans.
• Communicate student progress with families weekly.
• Utilize technology to support learning and task management.
• Maintain a consistent behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives.
• Contribute to school culture fostering a constructive learning environment.
• Engage with students and families in a respectful, trust-based relationship.
• Provide tutoring sessions after school or on Saturdays as needed.
