Job summary

Crescent Academy is seeking a passionate Math Teacher for grades 7–8. The school serves over 500 students and emphasizes a whole-child approach, fostering character, academics, and civic engagement. The role requires creating engaging lesson plans and meeting diverse learning needs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong math background, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate with staff and families. A valid Michigan teaching certificate with Math endorsement is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Michigan secondary teaching license with Math endorsement.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of successful secondary mathematics teaching experience.
• Expertise in Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and higher-level courses.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement math lesson plans meeting standards and diverse styles.
• Create assessments and monitor student performance via tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in professional development.
• Participate in school activities, meetings and events to support the mission.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and staff.
• Ensure regular and predictable attendance.
