Academies of Math and Science (AMS) in Peoria, AZ seeks a passionate 6th Grade Science Teacher to deliver standards-aligned instruction and foster inquiry-based learning. This on-site role emphasizes data-driven planning, collaboration with instructional leaders, and strong home-school communication.

You will contribute to Title I and multilingual communities, support growth, and participate in professional development opportunities offered by AMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field or AZ teaching certification.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
• Pass required background checks and obtain IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities.
• Show strong analytical skills and enthusiasm for data-driven instruction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned science instruction per AMS curriculum.
• Differentiate instruction to meet varied student levels.
• Use formative and summative data to plan interventions.
• Foster inquiry-based learning and hands-on exploration.
• Maintain a structured, positive classroom environment with high expectations.
• Implement PBIS and preventative strategies.
• Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
• Participate in weekly PD and PLCs.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional leaders.
• Contribute to campus improvement initiatives.
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress.
• Lead parent-teacher conferences and strengthen home-school partnerships.
