Job summary

King Elementary School is seeking a dedicated Long Term Substitute for our 6th grade to foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment. The assignment runs from November 30, 2026, for 12 weeks, with compensation at the long term substitute rate per the DREA contract.

The teacher will collaborate with staff to adapt instruction, provide direct instruction in small groups, monitor progress, and maintain records while upholding a safe, supportive classroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field.
• Valid teaching certification or substitute license in state.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learners.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings.
• Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records of student performance and behavior.
• Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
