Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking a qualified 6th-8th Grade Science Teacher for South Columbus Preparatory Academy at German Village in Columbus, Ohio. The role emphasizes hands-on learning, character education, and a strong focus on social-emotional development within an urban setting.

The position offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus for licensed teachers and a $1,500 sign-on bonus for substitute licenses, with a salary range of $40,000 to $49,500.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
• Experience working within an urban environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to supervise students in different school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans and modify as needed.
• Differentiate instruction to meet all students’ needs.
