ACCEL Schools LLC is hiring a qualified 6th-8th Grade Science Teacher at South Columbus Preparatory Academy at German Village in Columbus, Ohio. The role requires an active Ohio teaching license, a bachelor’s degree in education, and a passion for engaging students in hands-on science learning.

The position offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus for licensed teachers and a $1,500 sign-on for substitute license holders, with a salary range of $40,000–$49,500.

Qualifications

• Active and current state of Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Experience in an urban environment is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans with the ability to modify accordingly during the school year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom.
• Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in.
• Utilize school approved curricula reflecting diverse backgrounds.
• Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
• Communicate and meet with families regarding student growth.
• Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in planning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
