Job summary

RHI Magnesita N.V. in York, PA, is seeking a 6S Technical Expert to support daily 6S Lean initiatives across the plant and mines.

You will provide hands-on support through training, audits, data tracking, documentation, and cross-functional improvement activities to reinforce standards and safety.

Join our York team as a 6S Technical Expert and play a key role in supporting the day-to‑day execution and sustainment of 6S Lean initiatives across the campus and mines.

Working closely with the Head of 6S Lean, this role provides hands‑on support through training, audits, data tracking, documentation, and cross-functional improvement activities. You’ll help reinforce consistent standards, strengthen accountability, and support a culture focused on safety and continuous improvement.

• Serve as a technical resource for 6S Lean methodologies, tools, and standards.
• Assist in planning, tracking, and reporting progress of 6S initiatives, audits, and Kaizen events.
• Utilize Lean tools to support improvements in 6S audit scores, workplace organization, standard work, and visual management.
• Reinforce Lean Daily Management practices and support team engagement activities.

What You’ll Do

Cross-Functional & Project Support

• Support cross-functional Kaizen teams by coordinating activities, facilitating problem-solving tools, and tracking action items.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, R&D, and other departments to support improvement work and 6S initiatives.
• Coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to support improvement activities and project needs.
• Support recurring 6S Lean meetings by preparing materials, capturing action items, and communicating updates.
• Provide support for additional projects and business priorities as assigned by leadership.

Data, Systems & Communication

• Collect data and support preparation of presentations and reports for leadership review.
• Assist in tracking financial impacts of improvements, including cost savings and efficiency gains.
• Enter maintenance work orders and purchase requisitions in SAP as needed to support improvement activities.
• Utilize plant communication platforms, such as Workvivo, to support awareness and engagement around 6S activities.

Required Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience working with Lean, 6S, or continuous improvement methodologies in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• High conversational and written proficiency in English.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and execution‑focused with strong follow‑through.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teams at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with data entry, reporting, and business systems.
• Experience with SAP or similar enterprise systems.
• Experience using digital communication platforms to support employee engagement and information sharing.
