TITLE: Packer (2nd Shift)

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Packages and inspects materials and products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bility to add and subtract two-digit numbers
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, no prior experience or training

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • P erforms highly repetitive trimming, flaming, assembly, inspection, counting, and packaging of injection and/or blow molded components and parts
  • Visually inspects product for defects as defined in the QAS (Quality Assurance Standard)
  • Counts parts and individual packages within cases either by stack height or weight as required
  • Ensures that cases are labeled correctly, in the proper sequence, stamped with an operator/packer stamp, and stacks cases on pallets
  • Performs secondary operations as required
  • Maintains a steady rate of work as to meet or exceed standard labor costs
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat.
  • Loud noise level that requires hearing protection
