Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a Pipe Welder in St. Paul Park, Minnesota. The role requires experience in SMAW and GTAW, and includes pipe and structural welding with radiographic, ultrasonic, penetrant, and magnetic particle testing of welds. You will read prints and P&ID’s, fabricate spools, and hydro test assemblies.

The position reports to Maintenance Supervisor; starting pay is $50.29 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package and discretionary bonus potential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass a 2” XXH pipe test in the 6G position using SMAW with RT profile for NDE.
• A valid driver's license.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate piping spools from ½” to 24” and install piping supports.
• Read prints, P&ID’s and ISO’s; weld according to specs.
• Hydro test piping spools and perform repairs as needed.
• Weld carbon steel, stainless steel and alloys using SMAW, GMAW, GTAW.
