Job summary

Verista in Columbus, OH is seeking a Project Engineer to support equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and qualification activities within a GMP environment. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and automation issues and review equipment designs and manuals.

Work with vendors and internal teams to identify root causes and implement improvements, support integration and ramp-up, and document issues and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in equipment engineering, manufacturing engineering, CQV, commissioning, automation, or validation.
• Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing or packaging equipment.
• Experience with ATS, IMA, Dividella or similar equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and qualification activities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, instrumentation, sensors, servos, pneumatics, and automation issues.
• Execute equipment functional testing and CQV protocols, including IQ/OQ and performance testing.
• Review equipment designs, specifications, drawings, manuals, and control documentation.
• Partner with vendors and internal engineering teams to identify root causes and implement equipment improvements.
• Support equipment integration, optimization, and production ramp-up activities.
• Document technical issues, test results, deviations, and corrective actions in a GMP environment.
• Provide hands‑on engineering support during 2nd/3rd shift commissioning and production activities.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in equipment engineering, manufacturing engineering, CQV, commissioning, automation, or validation.
• Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing or packaging equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, automation, and industrial controls.
• Experience with GMP‑regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or similar manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a hands‑on engineering approach.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with cross‑functional teams and equipment vendors.
• Experience with ATS, IMA, Dividella, or similar automated packaging/assembly equipment is preferred.
• Willingness to work 2nd and/or 3rd shift.
