About WWAY

WWAY, the ABC, CBS and CW affiliate serving beautiful coastal southeastern North Carolina, is looking for an experienced, dynamic evening News Anchor to join our award‑winning news team.

Responsibilities

• Anchor evening newscasts with professionalism, credibility, and personality
• Shoot, write, and edit franchise packages
• Deliver live reports during breaking news and severe weather coverage
• Write and proofread scripts to ensure accuracy, clarity, and strong storytelling
• Collaborate with producers, reporters, and newsroom leadership to produce compelling newscasts
• Help mentor and encourage less‑experienced newsroom staff
• Create and post engaging content for digital and social media platforms
• Represent WWAY at community events and public appearances

Qualifications

• Previous professional television news anchoring and reporting experience required
• Strong live reporting and ad‑lib skills
• Excellent writing, editorial judgment, and communication skills
• Active and engaging presence on social media
• Experience with newsroom systems such as ENPS is a plus
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
