Qualifications

• Professional television news anchoring and reporting experience required.
• Strong live reporting and ad-lib skills.
• Excellent writing, editorial judgment, and communication skills.
• Active and engaging presence on social media.

Responsibilities

• Anchor evening newscasts with professionalism, credibility, and personality
• Shoot, write, and edit franchise packages
• Deliver live reports during breaking news and severe weather coverage
• Write and proofread scripts to ensure accuracy, clarity, and strong storytelling
• Collaborate with producers, reporters, and newsroom leadership to produce compelling newscasts
• Mentor and encourage less-experienced newsroom staff
• Create and post engaging content for digital and social media platforms
• Represent WWAY at community events and public appearances
