Job summary

The H-J Family of Companies, a Missouri-based manufacturer and distributor of electrical components for power distribution, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to handle, move, and store materials.

You will operate moving equipment, stage inventory, assist in daily operations, and participate in safety and quality improvements. Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, forklift/pallet jack experience preferred, and willingness to work overtime. Competitive benefits offered.

Responsibilities

• Move materials and assist in day-to-day warehouse operations.
• Stage and segregate product in designated areas; adjust storage as needed.
• Ensure safety features on equipment are functioning properly.
• Document movement of materials and inventory counts.
• Prepare goods for shipping and packaging.
• Maintain orderly storage area and participate in continuous improvement.

Summary: Responsible for handling, moving, and storage of materials and product.

Essential Functions

• Provide assistance to the department in the day-to-day operation of moving materials.
• Ensure all safety features on the equipment are working properly.
• Stage and segregate product in designated areas; adjusting storage areas according to production and shipping requirements.
• Timely notification and delivery of receipts to designated personnel .
• Use moving equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to safely and efficient move inventory around the warehouse.
• Document movement of materials through a transfer system.
• Complete daily preventive maintenance checklist on assigned lifts.
• Monitor inventory by completing counts as required.
• Package inventory for safe shipping.
• Assemble containers and crates, packs goods to be shipped and prepares identifying information and shipping instructions.
• Take inventory, maintains storage area, organizes and places stock on shelves. Ensure area is always secure.
• Share ideas, improvements and recommendations for continuous improvement to help optimize results to improve safety and quality.
• Other duties as assigned .

Requirements

• Must be able to lift as much as 50 lbs. several times a day.
• Forklift and pallet jack experience strongly preferred.
• Must be able to stand for most of the shift.
• Willingness to work overtime to complete any duties as assigned.
• This is manual work requiring frequent sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and walking.

* Weekend shift works 36 hours, paid for 40 hours. No overtime available.
