Middle School Math for 5th‑6th Grade Instructors

Location & Time

Location: IN PERSON at 610 W 112th Street, New York, NY 10025

When: Weekly, October 2025 – May 2026

Time/Date: After School Tuesdays 4:30p.m. – 6:30p.m., Part time, hourly paid

Salary Range: $45 – $55 per hour

Responsibilities

• Develop, adapt, and implement math curriculum for groups of up to 10 students online or up to 25 students in person.
• Engage students and modify curriculum according to student needs and classroom medium with assistance from the LibertyLEADS Middle School Coordinator and advisory staff.
• Manage in‑person and remote classrooms using positive behavior management strategies.
• Meet regularly with the LibertyLEADS Middle School Coordinator for supervision and debriefing.
• Prepare a presentation with students for the end‑of‑year celebration.
• Submit lesson plans to the advisor’s supervisor one week in advance for approval.
• Maintain reliable Wi‑Fi and computer access and appear on camera at all times during remote classes to encourage student communication and participation.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field; Master's preferred.
