In this vital technical leadership role, you will own the end-to-end architecture, solution design, technical governance, and delivery oversight for next-generation mobile core networks. Detailed Job Description

Your day-to-day responsibilities include orchestrating EPG2 to EPG3 evolution, spearheading SACC and PCC modernization, managing SRR to ITC transitions, designing Network Slicing architectures, and integrating emerging 3GPP features such as URSP and RedCap. You will operate in a collaborative enterprise environment while partnering directly with telecom executives, engineering leads, and business development consultants like Daniel Dillon.

Key Responsibilities

• Spearhead the architectural design, technical governance, and end-to-end delivery oversight for 5G packet core networks across Europe.
• Architect and execute seamless migration paths for EPG2 to EPG3 core node evolution and software upgrades.
• Design and modernize Subscriber Access Control Center (SACC) and Policy and Charging Control (PCC) frameworks.
• Oversee complex SRR to ITC network transitions and signaling path optimizations.
• Architect advanced Network Slicing solutions and associated control/user plane separation (CUPS) topologies.
• Integrate cutting-edge 3GPP features including User Route Selection Policy (URSP) and Reduced Capability (RedCap) devices.
• Collaborate closely with vendor partners, network planners, and cross-functional engineering squads during rollout cycles.
• Maintain meticulous architecture specifications, design blueprints, compliance audit trails, and technical governance documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 10+ years of progressive professional hands-on experience in telecommunications network architecture and packet core design.
• Strong, demonstrable operational expertise in 5G standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) packet core architectures (AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF).
• Comprehensive working knowledge and practical proficiency in EPG2/EPG3 evolution, SACC/PCC architectures, and SRR to ITC transitions.
• Deep practical experience designing Network Slicing implementations and advanced 3GPP mobile core functionalities.
• Solid practical grasp of technical governance, multi-vendor solution design, and end-to-end project delivery oversight.
• Exceptional analytical problem-solving aptitude, technical documentation skills, and professional communication capabilities.
• Mandatory legal work authorization and physical availability for onsite professional contract operations in Europe.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Recognized professional architecture certifications such as TOGAF, TM Forum Certified Frameworx Practitioner, or vendor-specific expert credentials.
• Prior professional working experience in top-tier multinational telecommunications operators, equipment vendors (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei), or consultancies.
• Hands-on familiarity with cloud-native packet core principles, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and telecom cloud infrastructure.
• Experience utilizing enterprise IT service management (ITSM) ticketing platforms (ServiceNow, Jira) and agile project management tools.
• Proven track record of operating successfully in outside IR35 contractor engagements across international markets.
