Job summary

Union Bank 529 College Savings Group seeks a Field Representative based in Alabama to promote the Alabama CollegeCounts 529 Fund. You will travel statewide to meet financial professionals, employers, and community groups, explaining plan features and benefits and supporting outreach events.

You will coordinate grassroots campaigns, call on advisors, hospitals, libraries, and schools, and collaborate with partners to drive awareness and utilization of CollegeCounts 529 while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Mutual fund, investment, finance, tax and/or financial planning experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and in working with other financial software.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Position Summary

As a member of the Union Bank 529 College Savings Group, this individual will be responsible for effectively communicating the features and benefits of the Alabama CollegeCounts 529 Fund to current and prospective clients, community groups, employers, organizations, and financial professionals. They will be involved in coordinating and conducting grassroots calling activities across the state. This professional will live in Alabama and travel extensively across the state of Alabama to meet with financial professionals, community groups and exhibit at family‑friendly outreach events throughout the state.

The Field Representative will distribute information about the 529 programs to financial advisors, employers, hospitals, service groups, and other decision makers. They will research and implement creative strategies to market the plans to financial professionals and potential investors.

Essential Functions

• Make proactive marketing calls (in‑person and by phone) to financial advisors and other professionals with current business to strengthen the relationship they have with the CollegeCounts 529.
• Identify and call on non‑producing financial advisors and firms to introduce the CollegeCounts 529 and encourage future utilization of the plan.
• Call on existing relationships with employers, hospitals, libraries, schools, and other organizations throughout Alabama to create awareness and utilization of the CollegeCounts 529.
• Research new “grass‑roots” opportunities to pursue within Alabama.
• Stay up‑to‑date on industry developments and trends.
• Research and implement campaigns and messaging.
• Plan, schedule appointments, and implement effective weekly travel trips throughout the state of Alabama.
• Attend and promote CollegeCounts at various local and regional conferences and events.
• Provide 529 Field Coordinator with regular updates on activity.
• Actively assist with functions of the 529 College Savings Group as needed.
• Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training: follow internal processes and controls as required.
• Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Perform other job‑related duties or special projects as assigned.
