JOB SUMMARY: Utilize computerized numerical control machining skills efficiently to support customer requirements.
Essential Functions
- Sets up and operates 3, 4 & 5 Axis CNC milling machine to mill surfaces of metallic and nonmetallic work pieces.
- Compares numerical data display with specifications on operations sheet.
- Reads, interprets and edits G-Code for offset change.
- Periodically verifies the conformity of the parts being machined to the specification in the router packet.
- Adjusts program parameters to allow for variation in tool edge, material hardness, and other factors affecting the effective performance of the milling center.
- Grinds, deburrs and polishes parts to achieve smooth finished edges and surfaces, and then clear out the interior surfaces of all holes.
- Performs basic day to day maintenance of machine, including checking & filling coolant and cleaning machine.
- Provides feedback for product improvements for quality and cost as part on ongoing learning process of operations.
- Exhibits a High Quality Control Standard – First Piece Quality or Zero Scrap Mentality.
- Support the company and department business goals and objectives for Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Attitude (QCDSA).
- Function as a team member and under minimal supervision.
- Perform essential functions at the discretion of the Operations Manager.

Position Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years CNC experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read, interpret and edit G-code.
- Must be able to set up machines with no supervision.
- Experience in editing programs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Must have own tools.
- High proficiency @ Blue Print Reading, GD&T, Inspection Tools & Methods.
- Experience with Aerospace materials, tolerances and quality requirements beneficial.
- Familiarity with forklift operations beneficial; ability to successfully pass a forklift operations test.
- Basic Quality procedures / ISO.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Use of Material Management software.
