Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Brea, CA is seeking a manufacturing technician to operate tapping machine equipment and produce parts per specifications.

You will read drawings and work instructions, set up machines, observe operations for malfunctions, and verify final parts meet tolerances using micrometers, calipers, and comparators. This is an on-site, full-time role with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 0-3 years in a manufacturing environment or equivalent.
• Experience in an industrial machine shop is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operates tapping machine equipment to produce parts according to specifications and/or special instructions.

Understands and uses drawings, manuals, and work instructions to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work-piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

Starts and observes on-going machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.

Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications.

Inspects parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and comparators.

Understand tapping sequence

Keep tooling clean and in working order

Compensation:

$20/hr.-$25/hr.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Working experience of manufacturing environment.

A minimum of 0-3 years related industrial machine shop experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
