Job summary

Carter’s Inc. in Braselton, GA is seeking a dedicated Distribution Center associate to join our multi-channel warehouse team. You will perform general distribution center tasks (pick, pack, material handling) and support training on SOPs and Labor Management Standards.

Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of home department processes and procedures.
• Basic working knowledge of computers, RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems.

• Must follow Carter’s attendance policy and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general distribution center tasks (pick, pack, material handling, induction, IBIOB, etc.)
• Provide floor training and education on SOPs and Labor Management Standards to new and existing associates.
• Be approachable to answer questions about duties within their home department.
• Maintain the highest standards of quality and accuracy in work.
• Be flexible with schedules and able to work off regular shifts.
• Operate RF equipment, voice picking technology, pick to light, and other WMS.
• Use basic computer functions as needed.
• Follow safety rules and Carter’s procedures.

Essential Job functions (Tasks, duties and responsibilities most important for the job)

• General Distribution Center work (pick, pack, material handling, induction, IBIOB, etc.)
• Provide floor training and education on SOP’s and Labor Management Standards to new associates as well as current associates engaged in the cross-training program.
• Be approachable to answer questions from other employees within their home department regarding the execution of their job responsibilities.
• Must have the ability to perform the job with the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
• Must have the flexibility to modify schedule if necessary and work off regular shift.
• Flexibility to work anywhere in the Distribution Center any channel, any shifts.
• The ability to use Radio Frequency (RF) equipment, voice picking technology, pick to light and other warehouse management systems.
• The ability to use basic computer functions as needed.
• Must have the ability to work safely and abide by all of Carter’s Safety rules and procedures.

prior work experience and educational requirements

• High school diploma or a GED preferred, not required.
• At least one year of automated distribution center experience preferred.

PHYSICAL and Work DEMANDS

• Must be available to work in a multi-channel, multi-shift distribution environment, flexible to work different shifts and extended hours based upon business needs.
• Must be able to stand and work for long periods including daily overtime, holidays and overtime as required.
• Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
• Must be able to repetitively lift cases weighing up to forty pounds.
• Must be able to work in varying temperatures.
• Holiday schedule to be decided by Management.
• Must be available to work consecutive days in a row (for example 14+ days).
• Comply with Blackout Periods (no vacation or personal time allowed) as determined by Management.
