Job summary

NHCS is hiring a 4th Grade STEM Teacher to join our team at the Queen Street campus in Dorchester. You will teach Math and Science, build strong relationships with students, and tailor instruction to each scholar's learning style.

The role requires a Bachelor's, MTEL licensure in relevant areas, and SEI endorsement within the first year. Two years of teaching experience and a commitment to anti-racist, culturally responsive practice are preferred.

Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) is a tuition-free open enrollment charter school for grades K1-12 in Dorchester that is a public alternative to traditional district schools. We serve over 800 students across two campuses predominantly from the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan. What is the Elementary Teacher role?
As an Elementary School Teacher, you care deeply about the success of your students and create strong relationships to leverage success both in and out of the classroom. You are excited about understanding an individual scholar's unique learning style and supporting them in their academic growth and development.
You will work at our Queen Street campus. The hours are Monday - Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 4 p.m.The salary for this position is based on education and experience. Final salary placement is determined in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. Salary lanes reflect educational attainment and applicable licensure (i.e., MTEL).
Someone coming to us with two years of experience a master's degree and licensure can expect to make an annualized salary of $71,104.

• You have earned a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree is preferred);
• A passing score on the Communications & Literacy MTEL, as well as a MTEL in the content area(s) they teach within their first year of employment at NHCS
• An SEI Endorsement (core academic and special education teachers only) as defined by DESE, within their first year of employment at NHCS
• Two years teaching experience preferred;
