Job summary

Applitrack in Utah is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional for elementary 4th grade to support the instructional program and assist in supervision, care and instruction of students with special needs in the resource classroom. The role involves implementing IEP goals, providing first aid, assisting with classroom activities, monitoring behavior, and performing clerical tasks to support teachers.

Qualifications

• Age 16+
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must complete mandatory employee training within the first 3 months

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs of students.
• Administers tests, homework, make-up work, etc. for the purpose of supporting teachers in the classroom.
• Assists data collection under the direction of the assigned teacher for the purpose of monitoring student progress.
• Assists students with self-care activities for the purpose of maintaining students' personal hygiene.
• Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments for the purpose of practicing and reinforcing learning concepts.
• Attends job specific trainings and meetings for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
• Communicates with supervising instructional staff for the purpose of assisting in evaluating progress and/or implementing IEP objectives.
• Demonstrates appropriate role modeling for the purpose of guiding students in the development of appropriate social behavior.
• Implements behavioral plans identified in student IEPs for the purpose of reinforcing learning concepts.
• Maintains instructional materials and/or files and classroom equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability of items.
• Monitors students during assigned periods in various school environments for safety and positive learning environment.
• Performs a variety of clerical duties for efficient operations.
• Provides instruction to students in various activities for reinforcing instructional objectives and ensuring student success.
• Reports observations and incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Supervises and escorts kids to/from classes for safety and optimal learning environment.
