Job summary

Valaris Limited is seeking a 4th Engineer to support the Chief, 2nd and 3rd Engineers on a MODU. The role focuses on safe operation of the power plant and machinery, environmental protection, and crew safety in offshore conditions.

Responsibilities include maintaining engine room readiness, power distribution, and mechanical maintenance, while contributing to risk assessments and procedure improvements. Preference given to candidates with drilling industry background.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Graduation from a Maritime Academy is required.
• Drilling Industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation of engine room and machinery; monitor and control power distribution on the MODU.
• Attend/prep tour and safety meetings; maintain engine room watch.
• Bunkering, fuel, water and fluids handling; ensure cleanliness and order at mechanical locations.
• Identify opportunities to improve procedures and support risk assessments.

Job description

The 4th Engineer assists the Chief, 2nd, and 3rd Engineers in providing technical support and domestic and industrial services to all areas of the MODU. This position exercises effective control and efficient operation of the MODU power plant and machinery with attention to the safety of the crew, protection of the environment, and safety of the MODU.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for safety of crew, environment, and engine room as well as personal safety.
• Attends and participates in all pre-tour, post tour, and weekly safety meeting.
• Responsible for watch in the Engine Control Room.
• Assures proper power distribution on MODU.
• Maintains mechanical equipment when required.
• Responsible for bunkering, transferring fuel, water, and other fluids safely and efficiently.
• Maintains order, cleanliness, and housekeeping at mechanical sites.
• Identifies opportunities to improve operational procedures and assists with procedure revisions and risk assessments.

Qualifications / Experience

• High School Diploma is required. Graduation from a Maritime Academy is required.
• Drilling Industry experience is preferred.
• Completion of all training and certification requirements for position as described in the training matrix.
