Job summary

Bessemer City School System seeks a dedicated Teacher to deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in math or literacy, continually assess student progress, and foster a safe, motivating classroom environment that supports each learner's growth and curiosity.

The teacher reports to the Principal, maintains accurate records and reports, communicates regularly with parents and guardians, collaborates with colleagues across grade levels, and participates in ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Alabama Teacher's Certificate is required.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Determines individual and class needs.
• Establishes objectives and plans learning experiences.
• Implements activities using a variety of instructional techniques to meet objectives.
• Maintains standards of student behavior to support a functional learning atmosphere.
• Exhibits positive human relations skills.
• Evaluates the educational program and student progress.
• Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups.
• Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.
• Maintains and submits records and reports.
• Adheres to school system rules, procedures, policies, and state/federal rules.
• Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Provides tier III services.
