Job summary

TeleWorld Solutions in Plano, TX is seeking a RAN Engineer IV to design, implement, optimize and maintain advanced Radio Access Network systems, including LTE and 5G. This senior role leads complex projects, mentors junior engineers, and drives network performance and reliability across deployments.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of 4G/5G air interfaces and RAN architectures.
• Bachelor’s degree in EE/CS; 8–10 years of related experience; Masters preferred with 6+ years.
• Experience with 3GPP Rel activities is beneficial.
• Experience with system testing: feature validation, test docs, parameter optimization, performance analysis, test strategy, troubleshooting.
• Familiar with test tools such as protocol analyzers, XCAL/QXDM, Wireshark, Channel Emulator and spectrum analyzers.
• Ability to travel sporadically for projects.

• IOT test execution in lab with chipset partners, report creation and customer presentation.
• Upkeep of SS NW elements in partner labs including troubleshooting and upgrades.
• Analyze 4G/5G wireless protocol logs and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with support organizations, logistics, and cross-functional teams for deployments.
• Other duties as assigned.

The RAN Engineer IV is a senior-level position responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of Radio Access Network (RAN) systems. This role requires advanced technical expertise in wireless network technologies, including LTE, 5G, and other emerging standards. The RAN Engineer IV will lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the highest levels of network performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for IOT support in partner labs for Device Chipset feature validation, Protocol validation and performance analysis.
• Responsible for IOT Test execution in lab with Chipset partners, Report creation and customer presentation.
• Aid is upkeep of the SS NW elements in partner labs including troubleshooting, config changes, SW upgrades, RMA, etc.
• Perform detailed analysis of 4G& 5G Wireless Protocol logs.
• Responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting the issues.
• Works closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross- functional teams from SEA and Samsung HQ to achieve successful new product roll-outs and developments.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Good understanding of overall Wireless systems with emphasis on PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC and PDCP layers.
• Undergraduate Degree in engineering with 8-10 years of directly related experience is required. A Masters with 6+ years’ experience is preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree is EE/CS is required
• Experience with ongoing 3GPP Rel activities is beneficial
• Experience with system testing activities such as feature validation, test description documentation, parameter optimization, performance analysis, test strategy creation, problem troubleshooting
• Strong knowledge in 4G& 5G air interface and call processing technologies and network architecture specifically focused on Radio Access Network
• Working experience in Lab testing and IODT testing is preferred
• Understanding of IOT technologies including eMTC, NB-IOT,S1 & X2 Interface
• Experience in EMS systems, managing network elements, software upgrades, MOP verification
• Experience with SW development is beneficial
• Understanding of 3GPP systems: Core and RAN networks
• Understanding of HW as well as SW architecture
• Experience with test tools including protocol analyzers, XCAL/QXDM, Wireshark, Channel Emulator, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, etc.
• Ability to travel sporadically during the project
