Job summary

Penn State Wyoming County Extension seeks a part-time team member to support the 4-H program for youth and volunteers. The role requires approximately 20 hours per week with evening and weekend availability for events.

You will assist with planning, registration, safety, and communications for statewide 4-H activities. You will work closely with staff to develop county programs, support families, and help with marketing and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Good communication skills for interacting with youth, families and volunteers.
  • Organizational and record-keeping skills for event planning and registrations.
  • Computer skills for creating documents and marketing materials.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement and evaluate age-appropriate 4-H events and activities.
  • Work with staff to create new county programs.
  • Support 4-H members, leaders and families in registering and attending programs.
  • Coordinate registration and supervision for 4-H members in programs.
  • Provide communication to volunteers, youth, and parents about upcoming programs.
  • Monitor children and ensure safety of all participants.
  • Participate in regional or state events as appropriate.
  • Provide support at events by recording registration and assisting with activities.
  • Write news releases and social media posts to increase participation.
  • Assist with evaluation data entry as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff in planning and conducting programs and events.
