Job summary

Penn State Extension's Wayne County 4-H program seeks an energetic Extension Program Coordinator to help implement the county 4-H program and support statewide activities. The role involves hands-on activities, clubs, camps, school enrichment, and after-school programs with volunteers serving as leaders, coaches and mentors.

The position is based in Honesdale, PA, with no guaranteed remote/hybrid work. Salary ranges from $36,888 to $53,532 annually, with comprehensive benefits including

Qualifications

• GED or HS required; no prior work experience required.
• Willing to work flexible hours.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds and communities.
• Strong teaching, program development, and evaluation skills.
• Effective communication with youth, parents, leaders, government officials, and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Help implement educational programs, materials, and activities for the Wayne County 4-H program.
• Recruit, screen, train, and support adult volunteers.
• Promote the 4-H program to retain members and recruit youth audiences.
• Collaborate with local, county, and state agencies, schools, organizations and businesses.
• Plan the local program with the 4-H Program Development Committee, including fundraising.
• Provide effective communication to volunteers, collaborators, youth and parents.
• Coordinate registration, supervision, and transportation for events.
• Implement program evaluation, documentation, and reporting.
• Support 4-H volunteers, youth and clubs to follow policy and procedures.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
