Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking an individual to independently lead, teach, and manage K-12 students and chaperone adults through multidisciplinary outdoor classes focused on ecology, life science, and earth science. This role also supports general center operations, including facilities maintenance, dining hall assistance, and vehicle use.

Additional duties include animal care for residential education animals and leading staff to support ongoing reservations and guests.

Responsibilities

• Lead, teach, and manage K-12 students in outdoor multidisciplinary classes (ecology, life science, earth science).
• Support center operations: facilities upkeep, vehicles, dining hall assistance, and projects.
• Animal care and maintenance for residential education animals (reptiles, amphibians, marine invertebrates, coastal fishes).
• Lead staff to support reservations and guest experiences.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Independently lead, teach, manage K-12 grade students and chaperone adults through multidisciplinary classes in an outdoor setting. Class subjects offered include a focus on ecology, life science, earth science. (60%)
• General support of overall center operations including and not limited to maintenance and upkeep of facilities (dorms, classrooms, education materials, vehicles), operating a UGA vehicle, dining hall support and assistance, and projects as needed. (25%)
• Animal care husbandry and maintenance for residential education reptiles, amphibians, marine invertebrates, coastal fishes, and more. (10%)
• Lead staff responsibilities to support on‑going reservations and guests. (5%)
