Job summary

The University of Georgia seeks a dedicated individual to independently lead and manage K-12 grade students through multidisciplinary outdoor classes. Responsibilities

  • Independently lead, teach, and manage K-12 students in outdoor multidisciplinary classes.
  • Support overall center operations, including facility maintenance and operational assistance.
  • Provide animal care for educational reptiles, amphibians, and marine life.
  • Assist with ongoing reservations and guest management.

Job description

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Independently lead, teach, manage K-12 grade students and chaperone adults through multidisciplinary classes in an outdoor setting. Class subjects offered include a focus on coastal ecology, life science, earth science and marine science. (60% time)
  • General support of overall center operations including and not limited to: maintenance and upkeep of facilities (dorms, classrooms, education materials, vehicles), operating a UGA (14-passenger) mini-bus, dining hall support and assistance, and projects as needed. (25% time)
  • Animal care husbandry and maintenance for residential education reptiles, amphibians, marine invertebrates, coastal fishes, and more. (10% time)
  • Lead staff responsibilities to support on‑going reservations and guests. (5% time)

Location: Burton 4‑H Center – Tybee Island.
