Job description

Position: 4-H Environmental Educator - Fortson

Department: CAES-Fortson 4-H Center

Employment Type: Employee

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Responsibilities
  • 60%: Independently lead, teach, manage K-12 grade students and chaperone adults through multidisciplinary classes in an outdoor setting. Class subjects offered include a focus on ecology, life science, earth science, living history and more.
  • 20%: General support of overall center operations such as maintenance and upkeep of facilities (dorms, classrooms, education materials, vehicles), operating UGA vehicles, dining hall support and assistance, and projects as needed.
  • 15%: Animal care husbandry and maintenance for residential education reptiles, amphibians, farm mammals, poultry and more.
  • 5%: Lead staff responsibilities to support on‑going reservations and guests.
