Job summary

Owen Industries’ PVS Structures division in Carter Lake, IA, is hiring a MG Burn Table Operator for the CNC plasma & oxy-fuel line. You will own machine setup, review drawings, and ensure accurate cuts for complex steel components.

The role features a 4-day work week (Mon–Thu) with Fridays off, early afternoon home, and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan. Prior CNC burn table experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read structural steel drawings and cut lists.
• Experience with CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and LOTO.
• Ability to train and direct helpers.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the MG CNC burn table using plasma and oxy-fuel cutting.
• Review work orders, cut lists, drawings, nesting layouts, and CNC programs before starting.
• Verify material type, thickness, and dimensions prior to cutting.
• Load and secure plate material on the burn table with handling equipment.
• Select torch settings and verify CNC program loaded and correct.
• Monitor machine and adjust for cut quality and efficiency.
• Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and maintain records.
